Josh Carney

I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Media Studies at the American University of Beirut, where I work on popular Turkish media. I completed my PhD in the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University, and I specialize in image studies, media ethnography, reception studies, history and culture of modern Turkey, nationalism studies, and media production. I also do freelance writing on a variety of topics.
